It wasn’t personal, at least not in Daniel’s mind. It was business. By the end of the week, Arthur was called into the small office beside the lot and handed a neatly printed termination notice.
Arthur didn’t argue. He simply nodded, thanked Daniel for the opportunity, and returned to his booth. By the end of his shift, he had packed his belongings into a small cardboard box.
