James and Dave organized an annual hiking trip to the restored valley every summer, bringing students and volunteers to help the community continue rebuilding.
Thomas Gray would greet every group personally with a firm handshake and a warm smile. The valley was alive again, and it would never be forgotten or overlooked by anyone ever again.
