As the crew carefully cleared away more mud and water, the shape became clearer. It was a military vehicle — a tank, partially intact, its hull still bearing the scars of battle. The turret was twisted. The tracks were gone. But the body was remarkably preserved, having been sealed beneath the waterlogged soil for decades, protected from oxygen and rust in a way that wouldn’t have been possible on dry land.
