Carter and Mr. Samson were watching him closely. Paul quickly explained the call. “She’s in a retirement home. They want me to come.”
Carter immediately grabbed his keys, determination flashing in his eyes. “We’re not letting you go alone,” he said firmly. Mr. Samson nodded too. Paul didn’t argue. Right now, he was grateful for the backup.
