Just as Matthew stepped back, a voice called from the lot’s small office. He turned to see a man in a grease-stained jacket waving. “Here for the auction?” the man asked, approaching with a clipboard. Matthew nodded and introduced himself. The lot owner gestured to the sedan. “She’s a beauty. You have a good eye.” Matthew smiled confidently.
