To Mike’s astonishment, the animal drifted close enough for him to reach out. Slowly, he lowered his hand and touched its smooth orange back. The creature did not flinch or dart away as he expected. It simply allowed the gentle contact, lingering calmly beside the boat. Mike could hardly believe what was happening.
