Eddie and Sam braced themselves, then heaved on the heavy hatch. It swung inward slowly, aided by hydraulics, revealing a narrow airlock beyond.
The water in the airlock drained away rapidly through grated floor vents, leaving behind only ankle-deep puddles. Claire motioned everyone inside, closing the hatch behind them.
